I'm an intergalactic planet drifting orbit unknown
And when I eclipse they see the magic or it could be they're stoned
I lend my friends microphones and keep my company polite
Though I might tend to send a melancholy message by night

I'm a sixteen bit magnetic binary sound
Hear the groove grit stereo split play in the lounge
This can be a cold town so I'll wrap up warm
And live no longer in the shadow of any woman I've scorned

I'm a beat-nicking poet with my ear to the ground
And though I try not to show it this world gets me down
I guess I'll see you around with all the settling dust
Having wrestled with this heart which I can no longer trust

I'm a romantic cynic a contradiction in terms
A mister know all the facts with a lot still to learn
And all the bridges I've burnt no going back
Time to hit the road Jack all my baggage is packed

Sketch a map of mishaps avoid the same mistakes twice
Escape into the sunset away from the secrets and lies
With another shake of the dice I place my stake on snake eyes
Been a high roller now for most of my life

And a little peace would be nice but it's not an option it seems
I've got to work my arse off before fulfilling my dreams
Ripping apart at the seams whilst trying to make amends
Finding difficulty leaning on the shoulders of friends

I'm a constant evolution with perfection in mind
In need of drastically improving but it's a graft and a grind
They say I'm still in my prime so why be feeling so out-dated
The future never turns out quite how we might have estimated

I'm angry and rabid hatred flows through my blood
But when I cut myself open all that comes out is love
Is that ever enough? You know I've been there before
And I wish I didn't but I want more

All I hear is the rain
All I fear is losing my soul again
All I take is the blame
All I make is a move to control again
